ABOUT
Recently reformed in 2010, The Fuel are four lads from Bristol here to change the face the English rock music. Delving into the realms of combining raw power with delicacy and melodic lines, the band aims to succeed where many have failed in creating their own unique sound. With only one original founding member, the band has seen numerous musicians come and go over the years to find the perfect line up. Now consisting of Danny on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Tom on lead guitar and backing vocals, Ben on bass and backing vocals and Matt on drums. The new line up has led the band to find its true sound mixing elements from the members' musical backgrounds and fusing them together.

Danny
Danny first began playing music at the age of 11 where he played piano and flute in a local orchestra. He began singing in bands at the age of 14 covering the likes of Guns and Roses and Bon Jovi. However once he began playing guitar aged 15 he started to write a wealth of material that was heavily influenced by watching the Red Hot Chili Peppers play live in the summer of 2006. It was just after his 16th birthday in the summer of 2007 that he decided to put these songs in practice and start up a band called "The Fuel". Ever since then Danny has continued along the path singing and song-writing for the band whilst keeping a keen interest in his guitar playing. He aims to write and produce music with "soul and passion that anyone can relate to." His idol is Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters who he once had the privilege of meeting. He is also influenced by the Nickelback, Young Guns, Paramore, Boyce Avenue, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Debussy and Chopin.

Ben
Ben joined the band in October 2010, after moving to the area for University; studying Music and Business at Bath Spa University. Ben comes from a mostly classical and Jazz background, with his Dad and his Grandad before him being Military musicians. He has his Grade 8 on trumpet, and has played Albert Hall among many other places around the UK with the Northampton Big Band. He picked up the Bass at 11 after finding a borrowed Army Bass in the garage. After a couple years of teaching himself, he started playing Jazz gigs for a bit of money in Northampton clubs with other members of his family when he was 13. Since then he’s tried his hand at screaming in a hardcore band; Etched In Fate, and playing guitar in an Acoustic Duo; Airs and Graces, but found his place back on Bass with The Fuel. His musical tastes include artists as diverse as Sick Of It All, Bon Iver, Biggie Smalls and Debussy, but wants to make music he is proud of, and that makes people feel something.

Matt
Drumming from the age of 7, Matt has been tapping the tubs for 13 years. he is actually left handed but learned to play right handed due to his dad setting up his first drum kit for a right handed person. Quickly adapting to the backwards world of right handedness, he was soon able to play and compose his own songs using the drums and a piano. After spending many years writing songs for himself he turned to composing band material and formed a group for fun with his bassist brother as a two man band.Matt soon delved into the world of having drum lessons every fortnight and picked up many useful skills. Lessons ended abruptly when his teacher failed to show up one day and never returned for reason unknown to him. During these years Matt joined a pop punk band called Autumn Fall. Having enjoyed over a year playing for the band the members split and he left for university to study Professional Musicianship on drums. This is where he met The Fuel and became part of the newly recreated rhythm section along with Ben. Matt is highly influenced by old bands such as Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin but also more recent pop rock bands like Paramore and Four Year Strong and various other artists from Santana to Bon Jovi.
